Great Water Challenge #2

Our Ranger Unit has members that have volunteered with Credit Valley Youth Corp and have given many presentation on the Credit River Water Shed.  Here is some of that information.

Stream Restoration 
Stream restoration is restoring stream habitats back to their natural and healthy functioning state.

Factors that Cause Degradation of Stream Habitats

Caused by both natural factors and by human activities such as:

¨Rising temperatures

¨Invasive species

¨Over fishing

¨Dumping waste

¨Run off from lawns and streets

¨Mowing down grassland habitats

Here is one of our Rangers doing invasive species control by removing an Asian Carp from Rattray Marsh.
